Lets BEE Scientists
A project where young scientists co-designed an experiment to learn about pollinator preferences in the Blue Mountains. For 8 weeks we learnt about native bees, insect pollinators, experimental design and the scientific process by BEE-ing the scientists ourselves. This participatory action research project is a collaboration with Living Learning, Blue Mountains Home Education Network.
Creative co-design process
We designed artificial flowers in an experiment to learn about our local pollinators
field observations
To test our methods, we set up experimental flowers in the Blue Mountains Community Garden and in our own backyards.
Lessons from our young scientists
Reflections on the scientific process in this family friendly citizen science journey.
