Native bee ID and Habitat Making, Sydney Science Festival

  • The University of Sydney Badham Laboratory 227 (map)

Wonder what native bees are in your area? With over 1700 species in Australia, how can we distinguish between them? And where can we find them?

Learn about bees that live alone in reeds, logs and in the ground. Together, we will build them habitats from recycled materials for you to bring home!

You’ll then become entomologists and learn to identify these native bees under the microscope. You, the citizen scientists, will also be contributing to research on the role of native bees in Sydney!
